About the course:

The MHFA Suicide Prevention course equips you with the knowledge and skills to provide mental health first aid to someone who is feeling suicidal. It builds your confidence as a first responder to an individual experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviors. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and mental health professionals.

Requirements

No prior training or course completion is required to participate in the MHFA Suicide Prevention course.

Audience

This course is for anybody wanting to develop their capacities as a first responder to intervene in a mental health crisis. No prior background in psychology is required. Note: This is not a postvention course and is not recommended for individuals recently bereaved by suicide. This course is not a therapy or support group and those undertaking the course must be feeling relatively robust when they take it.
